The standout player for Colorado has been exceptional as the Buffaloes embark on their season. He plays a significant role in contributing to both the offense and defense, and he continued that trend during the Buffs’ emphatic win against the UCF Golden Knights this past weekend.
Hunter caught nine of his ten targets, amassing 79 yards along with a touchdown. He also made contributions on defense, with one tackle and an interception. As the Golden Knights sought to mount a comeback, Hunter recorded a timely interception of UCF quarterback K.J. Jefferson in the second half, celebrating his achievement with a Heisman Trophy pose in the end zone.

The Colorado Buffaloes achieved a remarkable 48-21 victory over the Golden Knights on Saturday. The team showcased great synergy, effectively neutralizing UCF’s formidable offense while making significant plays on both sides of the ball. The Buffaloes’ offense was both balanced and effective, racking up 418 yards, including 128 yards rushing. Likewise, the defense was crucial to the win, limiting UCF’s explosive ground game to just 177 yards. Colorado’s defensive line exerted dominance, sacking Knights QB K.J. Jefferson five times and consistently putting him under pressure throughout the match.
With this victory, Colorado advances to 2-0 in the Big 12 conference and continues to bolster its argument for a place in this year’s college football playoffs.
