Tom Brady might already be gearing up to utilize his influence as a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders.
Brady Consulted Bill Belichick About Coaching Role
Kirk Minihane from Barstool Sports claims that the former New England Patriots star intends to connect with Bill Belichick regarding a potential coaching position.
“Two sources have informed me that,” he mentioned on his eponymous podcast. “Two high-ranking individuals within the Patriots organization have shared this with me.”
Brady recently acquired a minority ownership stake in the Las Vegas Raiders following nearly two years of negotiations with league officials. The NFL’s finance committee determined that the initial sale price for his stake was significantly lower than the team’s actual market value, which raised concerns among other owners about their own franchises’ worth. Consequently, the purchase price was adjusted, allowing Brady to acquire a 5% share valued at approximately $335 million.
Raiders Aim to Recover Season Following Roster Changes
Belichick and Brady achieved six Super Bowl victories during their two-decade partnership as coach and quarterback for the Patriots.
This level of expertise could prove advantageous for a Raiders team currently sitting at 2-4 this season. With a long list of injuries and the recent trade of all-pro receiver Davante Adams, Las Vegas is striving to restore its roster to competitiveness.
The franchise announced the addition of wide receiver Alex Bachman to the active roster and the activation of wideout Kristian Wilkerson from the practice squad. Additionally, tight end Justin Shorter has been activated from the practice squad.
Head coach Antonio Pierce expressed optimism about his team amid the recent roster adjustments.
“We still have 11 players out there. We still have some talented football players,” Pierce remarked.
“Look, some of these players, to their credit, just came off the practice squad, and now they have to seize their chances. You always want those opportunities. We need to be precise, and when they present themselves, we have to take full advantage of them.”
