Over the past year, Tom Brady has made significant efforts to reconnect with his family after dedicating so much of his life to football. His children have benefitted from his increased presence, as he has taken them on trips and generally prioritized family time.
However, despite his retirement from the sport, Brady will not be with his family this Thanksgiving due to his new role at FOX.
The crew at Fox surprised Brady by notifying him that he would need to work on Thanksgiving, providing coverage for the Thursday Night game between the Cowboys and the Giants. His reaction was priceless upon learning that his holiday plans now include work commitments.
Thanksgiving is usually a day when Tom enjoys a break from his strict diet, indulging in free-range, antibiotic-free turkey and his grandmother’s biscuits. Since his split with Gisele, he has focused on spending quality time with his children and parents.
The Thanksgiving matchup featuring Dallas and New York is set to kick off at 4:30 p.m. ET on November 28, airing on Fox. While Brady’s reaction to the news was quite humorous, it likely wasn’t a shock to him. His acting skills have noticeably improved.
Before receiving this news, Brady provided analysis on the Packers’ decisive win against the 49ers during Sunday Night Football.
Brady analyzes the Packers’ commanding victory over the 49ers
It was a cold and wet day at Lambeau Field, where the Green Bay Packers faced the Super Bowl runner-ups, the San Francisco 49ers. Entering the matchup with a record of 5-5, San Francisco hoped to recover from their recent loss to the Seahawks.
However, they faced a formidable Packers team that was playing exceptionally well under Matt LaFleur.
While many anticipated a win for the home team, few expected the 49ers to be thoroughly defeated, with a final score of 38-10. What went wrong for San Francisco, and what did Green Bay do right? Tom Brady had some insights.
Brady was notably impressed by the Packers’ addition of Josh Jacobs, who rushed for 106 yards on 26 carries and scored three touchdowns. He praised Jacobs for his physicality and relentless effort on each run to secure additional yardage.
As for the 49ers, Brady pointed out that the initial issue arose at the quarterback position. With Brock Purdy sidelined, Brandon Allen had to step up, and for someone who hadn’t seen much action in three years, mastering Shanahan’s offense was a daunting task.
Allen struggled to find his rhythm and exhibited a lack of awareness in the pocket, resulting in a couple of fumbles. The challenging weather conditions, combined with limited support from teammates, exacerbated the situation for him.
Even though the 49ers allowed just 325 total yards of offense, they surrendered nearly 170 rushing yards. Their own ground game was ineffective, recording only 44 rushing yards. Things won’t get easier for them as they prepare to face the Bills next week, now holding a 5-6 record.
Meanwhile, the Packers improved to 8-3, moving closer to a playoff spot, and will take on the Dolphins in their next game.
