The Nebraska Cornhuskers and Colorado Buffaloes are preparing to compete in their 73rd ever encounter, as both squads are quite acquainted with each other. With the previous year concluding 36-14 in Coach Deion Sanders’ favor, Matt Rhule and his squad have had this rematch circled on their calendar throughout the offseason.

It’s noteworthy that Nebraska is spearheaded by their freshman quarterback Dylan Raiola, who threw for 238 yards and 2 touchdowns during a victory last week against UTEP.
In anticipation of their forthcoming game, Colorado’s head coach Deion Sanders commented on the rival team.
“I have immense respect for Matt Rhule,” Sanders declared. “I believe we are a fraternity. He was a professional, perhaps not the position he aimed for, but he possesses significant experience in his collegiate coaching journey.”
Guided by coach Prime’s son Shedeur Sanders at quarterback and dual-threat sensation Travis Hunter, Colorado aims to replicate their performance from last year against Nebraska, where they emerged victorious 36-14.

It’s also important to mention that Sanders enters this contest leading the nation in passing yards after throwing for 445 yards and four touchdowns last week against North Dakota State, while Hunter racked up 131 receiving yards and three touchdowns in their initial game.
Last year, shortly after the Sanders duo joined the Buffaloes, tensions appeared to escalate between both football programs.
“It was incredibly personal… The coach made numerous remarks about my father and the program – but now he wants to portray kindness. I don’t hold that in high regard.”

Certainly, both teams will be highly charged for this impending clash, as the rivalry between these two institutions stretches all the way back to 1898, with Nebraska securing victory 49 times, while Colorado has triumphed 21 times (with two draws). It’s worth mentioning that since Nebraska departed from the Big 12, Colorado has claimed victory in each of the last three encounters.
Nebraska Head Coach, Matt Rhule reflects on Shedeur Sanders and Colorado:
“He’s an extraordinary competitor and very resilient.”
