Syracuse quarterback Kyle McCord has enjoyed a fairly successful season thus far. Recently, he was included on the Manning Award watchlist. However, following the Orangemen’s game against the Pittsburgh Panthers on October 24, that list may require some quick adjustments. The Syracuse quarterback delivered a performance that is truly hard to believe.
Fans Criticize Kyle McCord Following Troubling First Half
The Orangemen were down 30-0 against Pitt at halftime.
After a rough initial half, fans took to social media to vent their frustrations.
“Kyle McCord has three passing touchdowns in just one half of football tonight. Unfortunately, all of them were to the opposing team,” one user wrote on X, previously known as Twitter.
“Kyle McCord really threw 3 pick-sixes in the first half against Pitt. Grateful Ohio State doesn’t have to face him anymore,” another fan commented.
“I never want to hear about Kyle McCord again,” another supporter remarked.
Pitt Coach Shares Candid Thoughts on Syracuse QB
Before facing Pitt in Week 9, McCord had achieved over 300 passing yards in all six games for the Orangemen this season. This accomplishment ties him for the most 300-yard games in a single season at the university. Additionally, he has thrown 19 touchdown passes, ranking him tied for the sixth-most in the program’s history for a season.
In anticipation of their game against Pitt, head coach Pat Narduzzi expressed his belief that McCord has potential for the NFL.
“Kyle McCord is an outstanding football player,” Narduzzi stated. “If you’re not a fan of Pitt or Syracuse, but you appreciate good quarterback play, you should definitely get your tickets because this guy is heading to the National Football League. We watched him convert on third downs the other day; I don’t know if he even throws incomplete passes, especially on medium-yardage situations.”
