Following a resilient victory against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Wild Card round, fans were eager to witness how the Washington Commanders would perform in their next matchup against the formidable Detroit Lions in the NFC Divisional Round.

In a surprising twist, the Commanders completely dominated the Lions at their home field, allowing starting quarterback Jayden Daniels and the Washington offense to rack up an impressive 45 points. After this significant win for rookie Daniels, the Commanders are now set to face the NFC Championship Game, where they will meet the victor of the Eagles versus Rams divisional round.

Following Daniels and the Commanders’ stunning performance against the Lions, social media was abuzz with reactions.

“The Lions are experiencing a death by a thousand fourth down conversions. It’s almost poetic,” one fan remarked on X, formerly recognized as Twitter.

“So disappointed in the Lions tonight. I’m feeling sick,” another user expressed.

Commanders’ Jayden Daniels Captivating Donald Trump’s Attention

The Washington Commanders have emerged as the most surprising team of the NFL season. After their victory over the Atlanta Falcons last Sunday, the Commanders are set to enter the playoffs for the first time since 2020. This season, Washington was not expected to make a significant splash, but everything has shifted due to their rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels, who has achieved 25 touchdowns and only 9 interceptions this year.

Daniels isn’t just garnering the attention of NFL enthusiasts nationwide; he has also caught the eye of President-elect Donald Trump.

According to NFL insider Dov Kleiman, Trump is reportedly a strong supporter of Daniels, with the forthcoming POTUS being “well aware” of the quarterback and believing he should be recognized as Rookie of the Year and possibly NFL MVP. This remark was reportedly made during a meeting between Trump and DC Mayor Muriel Bowser.

“President-Elect Donald Trump is “well aware” of Jayden Daniels and why he should be Rookie of the Year and potentially the MVP,” Kleiman states.

“This conversation took place during a meeting involving President-Elect Donald Trump and DC Mayor Muriel Bowser.”
