The parent of San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Ricky Pearsall reported that he was shot in the chest and the bullet passed through his back, as communicated by Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.
Pearsall was shot during a robbery attempt in San Francisco on Saturday. He is reported to be in stable condition.
“He was hit in the chest and it came out through his back,” Erin Pearsall shared on social media, via Florio and David Lombardi of The Athletic. “Thanks be to GOD it spared his vital organs. He is feeling positive at this moment.”
A 17-year-old male suspect is currently in custody following the attempted robbery. It is alleged that the suspect aimed to steal a Rolex watch. A struggle over the firearm occurred during the robbery, and the suspect was also shot.

According to CBS Sports:
“San Francisco Police Chief William Scott stated that the suspect attempted to rob Pearsall at gunpoint, a confrontation occurred, several shots were discharged, and both Pearsall and the suspect were hit by the suspect’s firearm.
“Police apprehended the suspect as he attempted to flee. He has been identified as a 17-year-old male residing in Tracy, California. His identity remains undisclosed, and the district attorney’s office indicated he will face charges in juvenile court.
“Scott mentioned that the police have retrieved the firearm and that, to their knowledge, the suspect acted alone and did not specifically target Pearsall because he is a player for the 49ers.”
Pearsall was drafted out of Florida with the No. 31 overall selection in the 2024 NFL Draft.
