Former Pittsburgh Steelers star running back Le’Veon Bell is now at the center of a grave legal battle, facing serious accusations from his cousin, Jada Bell. She alleges that he engaged in “nonconsensual, incestual relations” with her, starting when she was just six or seven years old and continuing until she turned 18. Such allegations, particularly those related to sexual abuse, are heartbreakingly serious and demand our attention.
Jada first raised her concerns by filing a police report in Columbus back in October 2022. More recently, she brought her case to court on March 22 and again in October 2024. Bell revealed that around this time, he received a text from Jada that ominously stated, “we’re gonna see who the bad guy is,” which he interprets as a precursor to the serious accusations directed at him today.
In defense, attorney Thomas W. Shaffer has vehemently stated Bell’s innocence. He articulated that the default judgment issued against Bell was “based upon violations of his Fifth Amendment rights of due process for failing to be served.” Shaffer indicated that they are actively working to reverse this judgment, arguing that the core narratives of this case have not been adequately addressed in a court setting.

Le’Veon Bell had a distinguished career in the NFL, amassing impressive statistics: over 6,000 rushing yards, 399 receptions, and multiple Pro Bowl selections, earning him over $45 million during his career. However, at the age of 33, he now finds himself in an unexpected position—transitioning into a new career as a professional boxer. Thus far, his boxing endeavors have yielded a mixed record, with two wins and one loss, including a highlight event where he knocked out former NFL star Adrian Peterson.
