Count on Ole Miss leader Lane Kiffin to inject some humor into social media, as he regularly does. That opportunity sprung open for him after USC triumphed over LSU last weekend, causing Tigers head coach Brian Kelly to become furious during the post-game news conference.
“We’re sitting here once more discussing the same issues,” Kelly expressed after the defeat, pounding his fist on the table and sending his water bottle soaring. “I’m so frustrated about it that I have to take action. I’m not performing well enough as a coach… It’s absurd. It’s insane.”
Brian Kelly is extremely upset following LSU’s defeat to USC.

Well, Kiffin had his own share of amusement with the situation.
“On Tuesday, Kiffin uploaded a screenshot of Kelly pounding his fist with a bottle of Dasani water airborne beside the LSU coach,” reported Steve DelVecchio of Larry Brown Sports. “Kiffin joked that Kelly just required a Coke Zero and a grin.”

Of course, Kiffin also poked fun at himself. He recently went on a tirade concerning the harmful effects of consuming Coke at one of his own news conferences — perhaps not the best move, considering Coke is a sponsor of Ole Miss. So he referenced his “affection” for Coke at Kelly’s expense.
Regardless, according to our Brandon Santomauro:
“Due to the thrilling conclusion of the game, the Trojans were behind 17-13 as they entered the fourth quarter, but following a three-play, 64-yard drive with five minutes remaining, the score shifted to 20-17. Then the Tigers responded with a field goal, bringing the score to 20-20.
“With the game on the line, USC junior quarterback Miller Moss expertly maneuvered the team down the field again during the two-minute drill. Notably, the standout play of this drive occurred with 15 seconds left when wide receiver Kyron Hudson made an outstanding catch, putting the team in the red zone, following a targeting penalty that added another 15 yards.
“With eight seconds remaining in the contest, senior running back Woody Marks rushed into the end zone from the 13-yard line, ensuring USC’s victory, which means LSU has now experienced their fifth consecutive season opener loss (third straight under Kelly).”
