Kylie Kelce Reveals How She Was Bullied In High School Due To Her Height

Kylie Kelce possesses a vibrant and assertive character, showing little concern for the opinions of others regarding herself or her family. Marrying Jason Kelce necessitated that Kylie cultivate a resilient attitude, although her strength likely originates from much earlier in her life. As a teenager, she often faced bullying due to her height.

Now standing at 5’11”, Kylie was consistently the taller individual in her high school, frequently out-sizing many of the boys—a feature she gained from her 6’9″ father. She shared on her podcast ‘Not Gonna Lie,’

“I went into high school, I’m pretty sure I was already 5’10 as a freshman. And let me tell you something, boys were not. Specifically like I got ruthlessly bullied by a couple of people, one of the worst was a guy whose insult was like you’re huge, you’re a man.”

It took Kylie a couple of years in high school to feel at ease with her physique and dismiss the negativity. Rather than allowing the comments to affect her, she began to feel compassion for those who bullied her, believing they were simply envious because they couldn’t measure up—both literally and figuratively.

As a young girl, Kylie truly blossomed when she was with her father’s relatives. In the company of her tall family members, she experienced a sense of acceptance that was hard to find otherwise. This sense of ease continued when she married offensive lineman Jason Kelce, and being around him and his teammates significantly boosted her self-esteem as she felt she truly belonged.

TikTok creator Drew Afualo, who also appeared on Kylie’s podcast, recounted her own journey as a 6-foot-tall girl who stood out among her peers during adolescence. By her teenage years, Drew was already 5’4″. Similar to Kylie, she initially perceived her height as normal until she encountered comparable treatment from classmates in middle and high school.

In high school, amid critical classmates and the difficulty of fitting in, Drew grappled with being tall and plus-sized. Nevertheless, the steadfast support of her family encouraged her to embrace her stature, and today, she takes pride in being a tall woman.

Kylie also embraces her height fully, rejecting the antiquated and sexist belief that women must be delicate and petite. For her, outward appearance holds little value in comparison to the traits that genuinely characterize a person—such as kindness, integrity, and being a good human being.
