The defensive squad of Kansas City effectively contained the Cincinnati offense during the latter half, denying them any chance of adding to their score.
Quarterback Jake Browning managed to throw for 197 yards, primarily targeting Ja’Marr Chase, who, however, could only gain 41 yards from three receptions.
Earlier this week, Chase had voiced his criticism towards Kansas City’s defensive lineup, expressing his skepticism about any standout player in the Chiefs’ defense.
It appears that Sneed seems to have taken these comments to heart.
In the course of the match, there was a physical altercation involving Bengals’ wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase and Chiefs’ defensive back L’jarius Sneed, which almost escalated into a larger skirmish.
Following the game, Chase accused Sneed of having a desire to engage in physical confrontation.
“I have no idea what he was trying to achieve… he seemed eager for a fight,” Chase conveyed to the press.
Cincinnati and Kansas City have established one of the fiercest rivalries in the NFL in recent times. They clashed in the AFC Championship Game in the last two postseasons, with Cincinnati emerging victorious in 2021 and Kansas City retaliating in 2022.
Nonetheless, they will not have the opportunity to face each other this season as the Bengals have been ousted from playoff contention.
