Fans Upset After Dull First Half of Thursday Night Football
However, the excitement surrounding this matchup quickly faded, as fans expressed their disappointment over a lackluster first half from both NFC giants. As the two-minute warning approached, the Commanders were ahead of the Eagles, 7-3.
Offensive plays were minimal, and viewers took to social media to share their frustrations.
“Every single Thursday night game besides 3 have been a mess. Two of the exciting games have been from the Ravens,” one fan posted on X, previously known as Twitter.
“This game is starting to remind me of why I never liked these Thursday night football matchups. They are often nearly unwatchable, like tonight,” another viewer commented.
A.J. Brown Shares Insights on Eagles’ Offensive Flexibility
At the beginning of the season, the Eagles struggled a bit, finishing their first four games with a 2-2 record, casting doubt on their status as championship contenders. However, after a slow start, they have ignited a winning streak, currently claiming five consecutive victories.
The Eagles have maneuvered their way back to the top of the NFC East through various strategies. Head coach Nick Sirianni has demonstrated his versatility in offensive tactics, combining a top-tier passing game with a formidable running attack. Star receiver A.J. Brown believes this adaptability has been key to their success this season.
“You want to be able to win in multiple ways,” Brown commented. “And as we continue to grow, I think we’ll keep seeing that even more. That’s the hallmark of strong offenses; they can do both. They’re not limited to one approach. So, we just want to keep building our skill set, expanding what we can do, and executing it efficiently.”
Nevertheless, Brown noted that while the team’s flexibility can occasionally be frustrating for competitors, winning remains the top priority.
“It’s a double-edged sword. We’re glad the guys [run] the ball, but we want the ball too. But it is what it is. You move on to the next game. You take it as it comes. So, it’s all positive,” he said.
