Deion Sanders, the head football coach at Colorado, has recently become the subject of rumors regarding a potential move to an NFL head coaching position.
Currently, these speculations remain just that—speculations. Coach Prime shared his thoughts about his future when he addressed the media on Tuesday.
“I’m happy where I am, man,” Sanders told reporters. “I’ve got a kickstand down. You know what a kickstand is?… That means I’m resting. I’m good, I’m happy, I’m excited. I’m enthusiastic about where I am. I love it here, truly do.”

The NFL icon also remarked that it was inappropriate for reporters to raise the subject in front of his athletic director, Rick George.
“You’re going to talk like that with my AD in here; that’s so disrespectful,” Sanders said. “You’re going to talk about me going somewhere with my AD in here?”
“The NFL needs someone like Deion Sanders, quite honestly. He fits the NFL, it’s a matter of whether or not the NFL fits him.”

Many fans speculate that given his history with the Cowboys, Sanders could potentially be an ideal candidate for the Dallas head coaching role.
According to Sanders’ former teammate, Michael Irvin, he is convinced that Sanders would gladly accept a head coaching position with the Cowboys if they were to draft Shedeur Sanders, Deion’s son.
Michael Irvin says “100%” Deion Sanders would accept the Cowboys job if they draft Shedeur Sanders:
“100%. And I can tell you, good sources have told me that. Great sources have told me that.”

Additionally, with Sanders’ son Shedeur planning to enter the 2025 NFL Draft, that adds another layer of motivation for Coach Prime to consider a move.
Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer, who has previously worked with Sanders at Jackson State, was approached about Sanders potentially stepping into a head coach role in the league.
#Cowboys DC Mike Zimmer was reluctant to speak about Deion Sanders’ potential as an NFL head coach. But he said they talk weekly.
“I know he’s told me multiple times that he’s really happy at Colorado,” Zimmer said.

In short, Coach Prime has enjoyed considerable success since arriving at Colorado, transforming a team that previously recorded a 2-11 record in 2022 into one boasting an 8-2 record this season.
Currently, the team leads the Big 12, holds the No. 16 position nationally, and has two upcoming games on their schedule against Kansas (November 23) and Oklahoma State (November 29).
Prior to Deion Sanders’ arrival in Boulder, the Buffs finished with only one win during the 2022 season.
In less than two years at the helm, Coach Prime now has Colorado at 8-2 and in postseason contention 🔥
