The moment has finally arrived! After weeks filled with speculation, All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams was traded to the New York Jets on Monday in exchange for a conditional NFL Draft pick.
Davante Adams Sends Message to Raiders
When Davante Adams joined the Raiders, he aimed to recapture the chemistry he had built with quarterback Derek Carr during their time together at California State University. However, after Carr’s exit, the situation deteriorated, leading Adams to request a trade as well.
In the wake of the trade from the Raiders, Adams expressed his gratitude to the organization.
“To my teammates, coaches and ownership, and staff, you all have taught me countless lessons and I am forever grateful for the resiliency, drive, and unwavering support when I put on the historic shield every Sunday,” Adams said. “From Oakland to Las Vegas, Raider Nation has and always will be part of my family.”
Robert Saleh Breaks Silence Following Jets Termination
A new chapter commenced for the Jets on Monday night. Following a defeat to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 5, New York made the surprising move to dismiss head coach Robert Saleh, with Jeff Ulbrich stepping in as the interim head coach. Furthermore, offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett has been stripped of his playcalling responsibilities.
After his dismissal, Saleh released a statement reflecting on his time leading the team.
“To the Jets Organization, I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work with so many incredible people. I will always be appreciative of the love and support from everyone at 1 Jets Drive,” Saleh stated.
“To all of the players, I truly love and appreciate every single one of you. The character of the men in the locker room made coaching you guys the ultimate privilege. Through all the ups and downs, each and every one of you showed up every day and attacked every moment.”
There were also rumors that Saleh had planned to relieve Jets offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett of his playcalling duties prior to his sudden dismissal. Nevertheless, he made sure to acknowledge his coaching staff as he departed.
“To my fellow coaches and staff, it has been an honor to work with all of you,” Saleh remarked. “Every one of you was ‘all in’ and made sacrifices for one another that will never be forgotten. I wish you all the very best of luck for the remainder of the season.”
