Are you keen on purchasing the opulent mansion in Potomac previously owned by Dan Snyder? Well, we have some exciting updates for you.
As per a piece by Nicki Jhabvala from The Washington Post, the ex-proprietor of the Washington Commanders has slashed the price of his splendid residence by $14 million. This impressive abode, encompassing five bedrooms, ten bathrooms, and sprawling over 30,000 square feet, is currently on the market for $34.9 million.
Initially, the mansion was priced at $49 million on February 6. Prospective buyers should note that in 2021 alone, the property tax for this residence was a substantial $17.113 million. Hence, do prepare for a significant tax obligation!
In the previous month, the sale of the Washington Commanders by Dan Snyder to a consortium headed by Josh Harris for a groundbreaking $6.05 billion was officially sanctioned by NFL owners. This agreement marked the highest ever purchase price for an American sports franchise. Josh Harris is also the proprietor of the NHL’s New Jersey Devils and the NBA’s Philadelphia 76ers.
Having been at the helm of the franchise since 1999, totaling a duration of 24 years, Snyder’s ownership came to an end. Sadly, the team’s performance dwindled during his tenure. Despite a rich legacy which featured three Super Bowl triumphs under the esteemed coach Joe Gibbs, the Commanders faced disarray and misfortune under Snyder’s guidance.
Throughout Snyder’s stewardship, the team could only clinch victory in two out of the eight playoff matches they participated in, with their most recent postseason win tracing back to the 2005 season. Overall, Snyder’s ownership ledger reflected a rather bleak 164-220-2 record.
With Harris spearheading the new direction, fans of the Commanders can anticipate a rejuvenated era in football.
