Throughout the home game that the Dallas Cowboys had against the New York Jets, defensive line trainer Sharrif Floyd was escorted to the Cowboys’ locker room for assessment during the third quarter. As mentioned by CBS sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson, Floyd lost consciousness but was aided in walking to the locker room.
Later on, Floyd was transferred to the hospital.
“Sharrif was taken to the hospital. That’s all the details I possess. We were prudent in response to what occurred and are satisfied with the communications we have received.”
The occurrence took place when Micah Parsons mishandled the ball at the Jets’ 37-yard line, initially ruled as a 37-yard touchdown. Floyd, a former player for the University of Florida, became a part of the Cowboys coaching team in February 2023 subsequent to playing four seasons with the Minnesota Vikings.
Numerous supporters have extended their well-wishes and prayers for Floyd’s welfare:
At the age of 32, Floyd competed in the NFL for five seasons with the Minnesota Vikings from 2013 to 2017. He became an assistant defensive line coach for the Cowboys in February. In 2018, Floyd gained attention when he filed a lawsuit against the esteemed sports surgeon Dr. James Andrews seeking $180 million, claiming that a pain-blocking injection utilized by Andrews during a knee surgery caused muscle and nerve impairment two years earlier. Following this lawsuit, Floyd did not return to play in the NFL.
