The Los Angeles Chargers faced off against the Kansas City Chiefs in the Week 14 installment of Sunday Night Football. With both teams emerging as formidable contenders in the NFL this season, excitement among fans soared in anticipation of the clash.

Fans Upset With Cris Collinsworth During Chiefs-Chargers Matchup

Although expectations were high for the game, the focus shifted for many viewers during the AFC West rivalry between the Chiefs and Chargers. This was largely due to the commentary from NBC Sports analyst Cris Collinsworth, which drew ire from fans online throughout the Sunday Night Football broadcast.

Many took to social media to express their frustrations.

“Watching #SNF on mute so I don’t have to listen to Cris Collinsworth s**b all over Patrick Mahomes for 3 hours,” one user posted on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

“Just realized that Cris Collinsworth is calling Chargers vs Chiefs. Unreal Mahomes glaze incoming,” another fan chimed in.

Justin Herbert Takes Charge in the LA Locker Room

Following a disappointing 2023 season, the Los Angeles Chargers are making a strong comeback. Under new head coach Jim Harbaugh, the team currently leads the AFC West with a 7-4 record. The Chiefs recently experienced their first loss of the season against the Buffalo Bills in November, causing the dynamics of the division to shift.

With the Chargers trailing the Chiefs by just three games and facing them in a crucial matchup this week, the remaining season could prove to be quite intriguing. Moreover, quarterback Justin Herbert has shown marked improvement under Harbaugh’s guidance, throwing 13 touchdown passes against just one interception this year.

There’s a renewed sense of positivity in the Chargers’ locker room, and Herbert’s infectious energy is quickly being recognized by his teammates.

“I feel like everybody’s having more fun this year. We’ve got a good culture going and Justin’s definitely the leader of that,” stated Chargers offensive tackle Rashawn Slater to ESPN. “Whenever we see him have that energy, it’s very infectious. As long as I’ve known Justin, he’s been the ultimate competitor, but I love that he’s been a little more animated.”
